City of Creators

Visual Identity ౨ৎ Print Design ౨ৎ Web Design ౨ৎ Social Design

City of Creators is a public art initiative that activates vacant storefronts in Downtown Newark by transforming empty retail spaces into temporary sites for art. The project aims to bring more energy and visitors to the neighborhood, support local businesses, and promote vacant storefronts as opportunities for future tenants. The campaign launched in May 2026 in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which brought international attention and visitors to the region. As the Public Art Associate at Project for Empty Space, I helped develop the visual identity for City of Creators by adapting the existing Kick It Off Newark brand kit for the initiative. I built and designed the City of Creators website, created social media graphics for the project announcement and artist features, and designed print signage for individual artwork installations. I worked as part of a larger team, collaborating with Project for Empty Space and various Downtown Newark organizations to bring the project to life.
