In Search of a Spirit House

In Search of a Spirit House is an artbook by Adama Delphine Fawundu, created in partnership with Project for Empty Space and SHINE Portrait Studio. The book documents conversations between Fawundu and community members in Newark, explores her evolving connection to the city, and highlights her artistic practice. I came on as the graphic designer for this project, shaping the book’s visual identity from the cover through the interior layouts and spreads. I also created social media graphics in collaboration with Project for Empty Space, as well as projection graphics for the artist talk held during the book launch. The project came full circle with a public book launch and stands as one of my clearest examples of designing and producing a professionally published artist book from start to finish.
